We Are Always Hiring Caregivers!

Caregiving, which is providing non-medical care to seniors in their own homes, is rewarding work to say the least.  Caregiving builds intimate relationships while enabling elderly people to stay longer in their own homes and apartments—where most people want to be and where the cost of care is much more affordable.

Many who do this kind of paid work are the type of people who enjoy helping others.  Caregivers are people who try to make the world a better place wherever they find themselves, whether they get paid or not.  These people volunteer countless hours bringing food to sick neighbors, driving friends to hair or medical appointments, or just stopping over for coffee and conversation when they know that someone is lonely or isolated.

Are you retired and looking for something meaningful to fill your time?  Are you a mom looking for a few hours of paid work that will fit in with your busy schedule?  Are you going to school and needing a flexible work schedule?  Are your parents now gone and you miss the company of elderly people?  Why not consider “volunteering” with a paycheck?  If you are the type of person doing the type of things described above for the people in your life, your calling may be caregiving.  We are always looking for new caregivers!  And the caregivers we currently employ have consistently named our company the Best Place to Work (in the Star Tribune) over the past five years.  As one caregiver recently said, “It truly is a feel-good job.”

Why are we among the best places to work?  We offer short shifts (typically 3 hours) and flexible schedules (you can get two shifts in one day if you want).  Typically, caregivers work within ten miles of their homes.  We support you in your work and someone is always available to help you problem-solve, to listen to your concerns about your work or your client, and to advocate for you and/or your client.

What do caregivers do?  They do the sorts of things adult children do for their aging parents.  They help with light, routine housekeeping tasks, run errands with or for them, cook meals, provide companionship, and act as an extra set of eyes to observe changes and ensure well-being.  There is no need for certification since caregivers don’t do personal or medical cares.  Every client is uniquely different and thus each particular job is suited to their individual needs.

Ours is a people business, and we employ many special people, all with unique strengths.  We have excellent cooks, meticulous cleaners, amazing organizers, and those who know exactly what to say in difficult situations. We have those who love to have fun and those who can sit at the bedside of a dying person.  We also have a variety of clients–some feisty, some lonely, some grieving, some who tell jokes every time we see them, some who, despite having serious diseases and physical ailments, teach us how to live well every day.

Again, if you are . . .

  • a retiree looking to stay active after 60
  • a mom looking to return to the workforce
  • a homemaker without special training but still wanting a job
  • wanting very flexible, part-time work
  • or just looking for something meaningful to do with your life

. . . then there is someone out there who needs what you have to offer.

Please consider using your talents to help improve the quality of life for the elderly in our communities. It’s probably safe to say that your life with be enriched just as much as those of the seniors you’d be helping.
